Journeying With Angels - Advent mini-retreats
Understanding the Role of God’s Messengers in Our Lives

Advent mini-retreats will be held in the church on the first three Wednesdays of Advent (November 30th, December 7th and December 14th) after mass from 7:45pm - 9:30pm

In this season of Advent, we learn to wait with all of creation for the coming of our salvation in the birth of God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. As we prepare our hearts to celebrate the Incarnation of our Lord, we notice that we are being accompanied by God’s messengers throughout salvation history. In the Old Testament, the New Testament and even today, we see the ways in which the angels and archangels of God bear witness to His Word and His saving message in our lives. Come and take some time out to reflect on these heavenly beings during our series of Advent mini-retreats.

Dr. Michael Hryniuk, Director of Spiritual Formation for the parish, will be leading these sessions. For more information, contact him through the Parish Centre.

Scent–Free Worship Environment

In Canada today, more than one in four individuals suffers from respiratory disease. Medical evidence clearly shows that scented products are harmful to the health of sensitive individuals. In sufficient concentrations, scented products may be harmful to those with allergies, environmental sensitivity or chronic heart or lung disease.

Our Lady Queen of the World is dedicated to providing a healthy and comfortable worship environment for our parishioners. In considering the health needs and concerns of those sensitive and non-sensitive parishioners alike and to provide a healthy worship environment, this policy will take effect immediately. We can achieve this goal only through ongoing efforts to protect sensitive individuals and to help parishioners adjust to having a scent-free worship environment.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
You might be surprised to learn that we have some people among us who do not enjoy an abundance of this world's goods. Therefore we would ask you to support our St. Vincent de Paul Society "HELP THE POOR BOX" it is always ready and waiting at both the north and main entrance of our church.

PARISH SOCIAL MINISTRY FOOD DRIVE
While we gather around the table of the Lord and share at the Eucharist, other members of our community struggle to put food on their table. As members of the Body of Christ, we can reach out and help our brothers and sisters who might go hungry today.
We are organizing a year round food drive in support of St. Vincent de Paul and Richmond Hill Community Food Bank, our local food bank. Please bring in non-perishable food and toiletries and put them in the food drive bin that can be found at the back of the church. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

NO CLOTHES PLEASE
