‘I
will never be able to repay the Knights of Columbus for what
they have given me”
Grand Knight John Heckbert
As members of the world’s largest Catholic Family Fraternal
organizations, 1.7 million Knights around the world, through
over 13 thousand local councils, contribute freely of both
their time (over 68 millions hours in 2006) and their God
given resources ($143 million). Globally, the Knights of Columbus
provide support for the Holy Father’s personal charities,
as well as support television broadcasts from Vatican City,
in addition to other charitable work.
At our parish, the Knights are active because the men are
part of our parish family. In full support of our priests,
the Knights stand ready to assist in any they can to improve
the quality of life for the marginalized in our midst; the
widows and orphans of brother Knights, the developmentally
and physically challenged, the elderly, the poor.
The Knights have sponsored and organized events – such
as the Family Movie Nights and the Parish Picnic – to
celebrate family life. Other events – like Dinner Dances
– offer married couples a night away from their family
to celebrate their married life. The Knights will continue
to introduce new programs to our parish community as we build
and strengthen the ties that bind us - one to all and all
to one.
They do this because it is the right thing to do and our obligation
as Catholic Gentlemen. In service to one. In service to all.
To the man who joins his family with ours, we offer
• Leadership development
• An opportunity to be of service in a structured way
• Friendship and fellowship with like minded men
• A chance to grow in their faith
• An optional insurance program as a fraternal benefit
But most of all
• The experience of a lifetime
